National Youth Employment Forum (NYEF) Concept Note

Unemployment falls among the many Cameroons’ development challenges like other less developed countries. However, the results of the survey on employment are quite disturbing, particularly in Cameroon and the major contributing factor to low living standards, poverty, and misery amongst other problems facing young people in Cameroon today read more about unemployment via this link

Addressing unemployment in Cameroon falls among one of the major complex issues and challenges facing authorities, stakeholders, and policymakers due to the following:

  • Lack of understanding of the immediate and future needs of the job/labor market
  • Lack of classified and accurate information on skills, competencies, and experiences
  • No collaboration and coordinated action between actors in addressing employment-related issues.

NATIONAL YOUTH EMPLOYMENT FORUM (NYEF) is a platform that brings together Employers (Companies and Businesses), Jobseekers, academic institutions, and policymakers to reshape the present and future needs of employers in Cameroon using technology.
